I have been creating art and exploring colors ever since I can remember. I have always been fascinated with trying to bring out the “soul” of a subject. When I am not in the studio painting, I am a Dental Lab Technician by profession. I fabricate crowns and bridges, where a porcelain crown serves as my canvas. I paint special stains on the crowns, and glaze them in a furnace. I also specialize in taking custom shades of patient’s teeth; choosing between the many different shades of white. Very few professions allow such an honor as to leave my artistic mark in someone else's smile.
It is a joy to bring out the beauty of color in everyday objects and faces. As humans, we are only able to see a certain spectrum of colors. We are not as fortunate as some species of birds and butterflies, who have additional color rods and receptors to see colors that we cannot even imagine. I look forward to the day when I get to see colors like that of a butterfly. I imagine heaven will be filled with colors glistening and glowing; iridescent ruby reds beyond our imagination. For now, I will continue to use the passion for painting God has blessed me with…trying to capture the beauty that the “greatest artist of all” has already laid out for us to see.
